Fionnuala Hannon

Fionnuala Hannon

Fionnuala is a long-term resident of Bunbury and is proudly committed to regional life and all that it offers. She has raised her three children in Bunbury, each of whom love the qualities of the South West. She is employed as an Environmental scientist with a consulting firm and her work enables her to influence the way our natural environment is managed. In her spare time she plays the piano for choirs, musical productions, school eisteddfod performances and student exams. She is honoured to be a member and Chair of the Lishman Health Foundation Board and contributing to the health and well-being of people living throughout rural and regional Western Australia.

Debra Bakker

Debra Bakker

Vice-Chair

Debra is an experienced financier and deal maker in the resources industry with significant international experience. Skills are spread over areas of corporate advisory, negotiation at all levels; cross-border, JV‘s and partnerships, project finance and M&A. All areas of banking in the natural resources sector covering clients from junior explorers to investment grade majors. Debra’s career has spanned Sydney, London, Chicago, New York and since 2003 in Perth, Western Australia. Leaving full time employment in 2013, Debra and her husband have built a small-ish scale sustainable farming business in the Margaret River region of WA. Debra is also active in the not-for-profit sector via her Board roles with Access Housing and Azumah Resources, and is Director/Treasurer for the Margaret River Regional Producers Association.

Bill Cowan

Bill Cowan

Secretary

When he retired Bill was an Executive Director, CFO and Country Manager for AngloGold Ashanti Australia Limited. Prior to this he was CFO and Company Secretary of Worsley Alumina Pty for over 16 years. He holds degrees in Economics and Finance and is an FCPA and FAICD. He has graduated with diplomas from the AICD Company Directors Course and also the Advanced Program ’Mastering the Boardroom’. He has held a number of directorships in public companies and in community service and not-for-profit organisations. Bill believes membership on the Lishman Health Foundation Board is an effective way of working toward improved health care in regional and rural Australia.

Peter Wright

Peter Wright

Treasurer

Peter Wright has been back in Bunbury for nearly 30 years after being born here and then moving away as a youngster. He lives in Dalyellup with his wife and a 21 year old son. Peter has 4 other children who have given him six grandchildren.

Peter Wright has opened and run three different café/restaurants in Bunbury. Peter has been Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce in Bunbury in the late 1990’s then Secretary until 2013. His current role is being owner/operator of Bookkeeping Plus which was formed in 2000.

A consultant eye surgeon in Bunbury for 16 years, in both private and public practice, Peter practises general ophthalmology as well as having a sub-specialty interest in oculo-facial plastic surgery. As Chair of the Foundation’s Research Management Committee, Peter is able to advise the Board of the Foundation on current issues in regional health and clinical practice. Peter is a former President of Bunbury Rotary Club, and was President of the Bunbury Aero Club from 2011 – 2014.

Jeffrey Williams

Jeffrey Williams

Member

Jeffrey Williams was appointed Chief Executive Officer at St John of God Bunbury Hospital in April 2019. Jeffrey has extensive experience in nursing and quality management at St John of God Health Care as well as in the public health service. Prior to joining Bunbury, he was the Wheatbelt Regional Director of Nursing and Midwifery at the WA Country Health Service. His previous experience with St John of God Health Care includes roles as the Director of Nursing and Clinical Governance at St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals and Director of Quality and Risk at St John of God Subiaco Hospital. Jeffrey is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Nursing at the University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle Campus and was the Chairperson of Mercy College Board from 2016 - 2018.

Kelly Hick

Kelly Hick

Based in Dunsborough and operating a tourism and consulting business, Kelly has over 20 years experience in senior executive roles in professional services, membership organisations and is a former practising lawyer. A qualified Radiographer prior to commencing her legal career, Kelly has clinical experience within the public and private sector in metropolitan and regional Western Australia and the UK.

A Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Kelly is Deputy Chancellor of Edith Cowan University and a Councillor of the City of Busselton.

With a long-held interest in health and a passion for regional Australia, Kelly was delighted to join the Board of the Lishman Health Foundation in April 2018.

Brenda Murrison

Brenda Murrison

Member

Brenda’s mantra is that “Prevention is better than cure”. Brenda has worked as a GP in Australia for over 20 years now. Her background includes medical education, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. In recent years she has concentrated on expanding her group of Medical Practices which are spread across regional and metropolitan Western Australia. Brenda is also a Graduate and Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is currently in the final term of her MBA through Ducere Global Business School. When not working, Brenda has three great kids, husband and family to keep her busy and enjoys skiing when she can, walking and the great outdoors.

Stephen Carmody

Stephen Carmody

Mr Stephen Carmody commenced as the Chief Executive Officer with Capecare in October 2017. Stephen brings a wealth of experience as a clinician and also a leader in aged care and health services. Over the last 38 years, Stephen has worked in metropolitan, rural, regional and remote locations across WA as a clinician, manager and leader. For the last 30 years, he held senior leadership and management roles with Silver Chain and St John of God Healthcare.

Stephen has held a number of Board roles including Wound Innovation CRC (2015-2018), Palliative Care Western Australia (5 years), Palliative Care Australia (8 years, including 4 years as Treasurer), SJOG Villa (5 years). He is a current member of the WAPHA Regional Clinical Committee.

Mr Carmody’s qualifications include Hospital-Based Diploma of Nursing, Diploma of Midwifery, BA Science, Master of Business and Grad Diploma Pastoral Studies. Stephen has also completed the AICD Company Directors Course.

Dianne Ritson

Dianne Ritson

Chief Executive Officer

Dianne Ritson is the Chief Executive Officer of the Lishman Health Foundation. With a health science, medical education and management background, Dianne Ritson has held leadership roles in health and disability across government and non- government sectors. As a graduate of the Institute of Company Directors she recognises the principles of good governance and strategy leadership in guiding the direction of the Foundation. As a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy of the United Kingdom, she is keenly interested in the significance of research in developing evidence-based policy and practice in health care. Having grown up in a rural area, she has recently moved to the South West, and welcomes the opportunity to contribute to the Foundation’s focus of improving health outcomes for people living in rural areas.

Tanya Meyer

Tanya Meyer

Health Promotion Officer

Tanya Meyer is the Health Promotion Officer of the Lishman Health Foundation, handling all of the administrative tasks of the Foundation. Tanya holds a Bachelor of Science (Health Promotion) degree from Curtin University and has previously worked in a government health promotion role in Esperance, WA. Utilising these skills, Tanya looks forward to supporting the Lishman Health Foundation to plan, implement and evaluate health promotion strategies resulting from research commissioned by the Foundation.
